5 reasons to buy the 2017 Lexus RC F
1. Available luxury features
The 2017 RC F may be focused on performance, but being based on Lexus’s RC coupe ensures a whole list of luxury features is part of the equation. Standard equipment includes a 10-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, and power-adjustable seats. Optional equipment includes luxe features such as a heated steering wheel, a 17-speaker sound system through Mark Levinson®, and parking aids.
2. Track focus
If you plan on spending a fair amount of time on the track, the RC F is well-equipped for race day. Its suspension was tuned for track use, and the optional Performance Package brings Lexus’s torque vectoring differential to shift power between the rear wheels to maximize grip when it's needed most. The RC F also offers strong stopping power thanks to massive Brembo® calipers with a fast-cooling, slotted rotor design.
3. Powerful V8 engine
The 5.0L V8 engine is, in many ways, the star of the show. You will not be wanting for power with 467 horsepower and 389 lb-ft of torque waiting on standby. This engine spins up to a 7300-RPM redline, producing a rumbling exhaust note as it works through the revs. The engine also features lightweight titanium valves and high-strength, forged connecting rods.
4. All-Weather Package
Many track-focused coupes are not worried about your need for winter conveniences, but the RC F is not one of those coupes. The optional All-Weather Package brings a windshield wiper de-icer, headlamp washers, and a heated steering wheel. If paired with the RC F’s Premium Package, you’ll also have heated front seats to keep you warm.
5. Rapid acceleration
The RC F’s powerful V8 engine provides the power, and the standard eight-speed automatic transmission helps you achieve rapid acceleration. Lexus claims a 0-60 acceleration time of 4.4 seconds, ensuring you have the needed power to merge onto highways or pass slow-moving traffic. At the track, the RC F is also capable of reaching 168 mph.
