2013 Nissan Rogue is an attractive choice
The 2013 Nissan Rogue might be the last year of the first generation, but it remains a compelling choice if you value an enjoyable drive and high-quality interior over outright practicality. Others, like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, offer greater utility, but the Rogue's interior is among the best, with fine materials and fit and finish. The front seats are particularly comfortable, and the SV trim's driver's seat comes with six-way power adjustment. All Rogues feature a 170-hp 2.5-liter gasoline engine, mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission driving either the front or all four wheels.
The steering is nicely weighted and precise, and the suspension delivers capable handling and agility that makes it feel more like a compact car than a compact crossover. If there's a negative, it's that the CVT creates a lot of engine noise. The S is the base trim, and a Special Edition package adds desirable equipment including alloy wheels, a nicer sound system, and a rearview camera. The SV trim has all that and more. The SL package allows for a Rogue that's fully loaded, with Bose® audio, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a useful 360-degree parking camera.

5 reasons to buy the 2013 Nissan Rogue
1. Upscale cabin
This crossover SUV's cabin has a warm and inviting elegance in monochrome tones of gray or black. Upfront there's a spacious 42.5 inches of legroom and two easy-access cupholders for that Saturday morning coffee run. Available upgrades to look out for include leather upholstery and a six-speaker premium audio system. Passenger comfort is paramount, with UV-reducing solar glass as standard and optional rear privacy glass if you like to make your moves incognito.
2. Handy all-wheel drive
Challenging conditions and magnificent road trip adventures often require all-wheel drive capability, and the Rogue has a setup you'll love. Available on both 2013 Rogue trims (S, SV), Nissan's all-wheel Drive not only delivers power to the front and rear wheels as needed when the weather turns, but it's also there for the fun times too. Activate the Rogue's standard sport mode and you've got a spirited crossover that can handle whatever comes its way.
3. Special Edition package
Pick a 2013 Rogue equipped with one of the three available package options and you'll secure some nifty features that will enhance every journey. The base S trim's Special Edition package is packed with worthwhile driver convenience upgrades, including Bluetooth® hands-free calling functionality and a rearview camera that helps with parking maneuvers. For luxury additions like leather upholstery and a power-sliding glass moonroof check out the SL package, exclusively available on the 2013 Rogue SV trim.
4. Capable engine
The 2013 Rogue has a no-nonsense powertrain good for everyday errands and big-hitter jobs like hauling boxes for a freshman-year college move. The sole engine option for the 2013 Rogue is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine, paired with a continuously variable transmission and standard front-wheel drive. Capable of producing 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, this set-up can achieve an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined.
5. Smart storage solutions
Whether you're sizing up to an SUV for the first time, or this is your next trusty crossover, useful storage is a must. For passengers, Nissan seems to have thought of everything, with cupholders in both rows, a sizable center console bin, and handy door cubbies that can store your essentials close by.
In addition to the standard cargo space (37.8 cu-ft), longer items like antique fair rugs or holiday trees are also well-accommodated thanks to the Rogues SV trim's fold-down front passenger seat.
