Generation Overview
The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse marks the debut of the second-generation model. In addition to gaining a more rugged appearance, the 2018 Traverse also gained additional passenger space and nearly 30 additional hp for its standard 3.6L V6 engine. Other improvements included a reduced curb weight and an increase in cargo capacity.
The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse offers a broad array of trims, starting with the base L and LS trims. Both trims offer a respectable level of features, with the base L offering HID projector beam headlights, heated mirrors and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Stepping up to the LS trim adds available AWD and second-row USB charging ports. The LT Cloth trim reduces seating capacity to seven by replacing the second-row bench seats with captain’s chairs, but you’ll get interesting features including an eight-way power driver’s seat, along with access to several driver assist features and an upgraded eight-inch touchscreen display as part of the Convenience and Driver Confidence package.
The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse’s LT Leather trim adds leather upholstery along with a 10-speaker Bose® sound system, rearview camera, an optional panoramic sunroof and rear park assist. The sporty RS trim trades the standard 310-hp 3.6L V6 for a 257-hp 2.0L turbocharged inline-four that offers fewer ponies, but significantly more torque. This FWD-only trim borrows heavily from the LT Leather trim, but adds distinctive black exterior accents and a black bowtie grille.
The Premier trim gives you LED headlights along with heated and ventilated seats, power tilt-and-telescope steering column and a hands-free power liftgate. The Redline Edition appearance package, which features blacked-out exterior trim and a panoramic sunroof, is also based on the Premier. The High Country rounds out the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse’s trims by offering adaptive cruise control, power-folding third-row seat, perforated leather upholstery and an auto-locking rear differential.
