Generation Overview

If you’re hunting for a large SUV that can handle the entire family, the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse makes for a very compelling choice. Touted as a full-size crossover SUV, the first-generation Traverse certainly has the size and length to easily hold three rows of passengers and their belongings. The 2014 Chevrolet Traverse comes hot on the heels of the previous model year’s refresh. New-for-2014 features included forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

The 2014 Chevrolet Traverse’s trim roster features the base LS, mid-level 1LT and 2LT and the top-tier LTZ. You’ll find standard features like front and rear air conditioning, a 6.5-inch touchscreen display with rearview camera, six speakers and available SiriusXM® satellite radio, along with two charge-only USB ports at the back of the center console.4 The 1LT jazzes things up by offering tri-zone automatic climate control and available remote vehicle start, along with the Chevrolet MyLink® infotainment system and an available 10-speaker Bose® sound system and DVD-based rear-seat entertainment system.5

The 2LT trim makes the Bose sound system and tri-zone automatic climate control standard features while adding heated front seats, a power liftgate and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The LTZ is the most luxurious of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse trims, featuring leather seats, memory settings for the 10-way power driver’s seat and 20-inch wheels, among other features. You’ll also get a set of second-row captain’s chairs, reducing the 2014 Traverse’s seating capacity to seven adults. Available driver assist features include forward collision alert, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

Regardless of the trim you choose, the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse uses a 3.6L V6 as its only powerplant. Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the V6 generates 281 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque, resulting in relatively smooth performance. All 2014 Traverse trims could also be ordered with FWD or AWD.
