Over 50 miles to the gallon without sacrificing performance
Would have been nice to figure something out to have the old iconic central speedometer of the Mini
it's fast, fun, and great on gas
convertible is very convenient for fun
only have to change oil once per year
really neat looking cockpit
very expensive car. same price as a new car
not enough room for anyone in back seat
not enough room for boxes
Car is well balanced and deceptively light on its feet. You can haul family and friends around and nip at the heels of more expensive and less practical sports cars once the roads get twisty. Ride is on the rougher side, but the car is extremely surefooted in all conditions.
It’s a Mini! Everything follows the same design language, and is just a fun car to look at, fun to be in, and even more fun to drive.
For the size, it does very well. Keeping in mind that the car is around the same size as a Volkswagen Golf, the rear seat passengers get good amounts of room, and trunk storage is adequate for 4 people from SF to Las Vegas. I can sit behind myself in my driving position at 6 feet tall, although my knees don’t have too much wiggle room.
This car is very underwhelming for city fuel economy. Driving only in Eco mode for a city commute yields about 23 miles per gallon. Although on the highway, limited to about 70-75mph, I have seen 35-38mpg average, which is excellent. Just wish it was better in and around town
The split rear doors mean there’s a thick bar in the center of your rearview mirror, and the rear quarter windows are almost useless as well. Also, above a certain height, because of the distance of the windshield and roof, it can become difficult to see traffic lights without bending down to look up at them.
Not too bad of a con, but people think that the “S” badge means it’s quick. It’s not. Don’t get me wrong, the car isn’t slow, and in fact it’s quite a zippy experience in town, but don’t expect to be blown away by the acceleration past 40.
