Overall Rating

Perfect car!

We feel it's very reliable with high ground clearance and a low gear ratio for torque for towing medium to light trailer loads. Love the 4WD, only when we select it. Very comfortable for long trips. Wish there was a little more luggage space behind the 3rd-row seats.

Pros

  • Reliability: We only have the one car and need it to be there for us.
  • Power: We plan to tow a small travel trailer and the ratings indicate that this vehicle is well suited to that.
  • Weather Versatility: We live in an area that does get snow and where you can be surprised by snow or rain. We like the 4WD and high ground clearance for handling in adverse weather.

Cons

  • Cargo Space: The 3rd-row seats take a lot of space and when up, leave VERY little space behind them.
  • Fuel Economy: We do wish it got better gas mileage both around town and on the highway.

nice but Highlander might be better?

spacious and comfortable. has wonderful track record of reliability.

Pros

  • Interior Space: spacious for a family car. nice quality leather
  • Cargo Space: great amount of space, love the window rolls down
  • Ride and Handling: limited versions have great feel for road

Cons

  • Fuel Economy: you won’t break 20mpg. Toyota could make a little bit lighter without compromising would be desirable
  • Value: a little pricey even before pandemic causing car shortage

Toyota 4Runner... fits my lifestyle!

It's not fast or flashy but it does not need to be because it has what it takes off road.

Pros

  • Cargo Space: it has tons of space for outdoor activities.
  • Styling: it is made for offroading.

Cons

  • Fuel Economy: doesn't get the best fuel economy.
