More performance at the top of the 2014 Audi Q5 range
Audi adds more appeal to its 2014 Q5 with a new high-performance SQ5 model, as well as a TDI turbodiesel engine. Elsewhere, the 2.0T TFSI four-cylinder turbo gas engine that's the entry point to the Q5 range gains some power, now boasting 220 hp. Audi also has made a few minor revisions to the standard features across the lineup. The SQ5, which tops the range, uses a higher-power version of the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the 3.0T models—output is boosted by 82 hp for a 354-hp total. It also comes with other changes to the standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system to increase the enjoyment factor in this more driver-focused model.
The Q5 TDI features a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel engine, with 240 hp and a huge 428 lb-ft of torque. The engine is a useful addition to the range—it's quicker from a standstill to 60 mph than the Q5 Hybrid yet offers better EPA fuel economy. Trim levels remain much the same, with Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige, and Hybrid Prestige, to which a number of packages can be added. In all, there's plenty of choice for this appealing all-round luxury compact SUV.

5 reasons to buy the 2014 Audi Q5
1. Sophisticated interior
The 2014 Audi Q5 comes with all the comfort and sleekness that one expects from Audi. The interior styling is elegant, made up of high-end materials that are attractive to both look at and touch. Every version of the 2014 Q5 comes with leather upholstery (type and color options very slightly with trim level), and there are three seating types – Standard, Comfort, or Sport – which also depend on the trim. Even with the base model, the front seats are power-adjustable and the rear seats recline and slide, backing up the strong aesthetics of this SUV with comfort and support.
2. AWD as standard
All-wheel drive is the standard driving mode for every version of the 2014 Audi Q5. This opens up your options for where and when to drive. AWD means better traction on terrain beyond standard road surfaces and better grip on wet or icy surfaces, offering you peace of mind on your travels. Every version of the 2014 Q5 comes with Audi's AWD quattro system combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base engine was updated for 2014: a 220-hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
3. Powerful V6 options
Of course, if that standard engine isn't powerful enough for you, there are alternatives. The 2014 Audi Q5 Premium Plus trim has an available 3.0L supercharged V6 that brings the horsepower to 272. For even more grunt, however, keep an eye out for the SQ5 trim, which also comes with a supercharged 3.0L V6, only this one produces 354 hp. Audi's eight-speed automatic transmission is specifically optimized to transfer power in a way that is balanced and responsive.
4. Spacious for all passengers
In a vehicle that focuses on luxury and comfort inside, it's no surprise that space would also be a priority. Passenger volume in the base trim 2014 Audi Q5 is 101.5 cu-ft, which gives the vehicle the luxury of offering 39.4 inches of headroom and 41 inches of legroom to those in the front. In the back, headroom is 39 inches, with 37.4 inches of legroom, which is plenty for most adults. Plus, as previously mentioned, the rear seats can slide to provide more space. With all seats folded, there's also 57.3 cu-ft of cargo space, which is plenty for luggage, sports gear, or large amounts of shopping.
5. Something to suit your style
The look of a vehicle may not matter to everybody, but in keeping with Audi's overall style, the 2014 Q5 is sleek yet sturdy. Handsome, but not aggressive. The 2014 Audi Q5 comes with a lot of options for both the inside and outside. The striking external colors include Ibis White, Ice Silver Metallic, Monsoon Gray Metallic, Scuba Blue Metallic, Volcano Red Metallic, and Phantom Black Pearl, among many others for a wide spectrum of possibilities. Plus there are various leather colors, including Titanium Gray Leather, Pistachio Gray Leather, Black Leather, and Chestnut Brown Leather with added variations that depend on the trim. There's something for everyone.
