2024 Audi Q7 review

What We Like 

• Brisk acceleration: In Edmunds' testing, the V6-powered Q7 accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds, making the Q7 one of the quicker non-performance vehicles in its class. Accelerating from a stop or on the freeway was smooth, quick, and drama-free. That said, if the drive mode is in Comfort, the throttle response can feel a little sluggish unless you're hard on the throttle. 

• Easily accessible cargo area: The Q7's cargo measurements are as follows: 14.2 cubic feet with the third row up, 35.7 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 69.6 cubic feet with the second and third rows down. These figures are roughly average for the class, but the Q7's low load floor makes it easier to move items, and models with the air suspension allow you to tailor the height so tall people don't have to duck under the liftgate. This ease of use scores bonus points for the Q7. 

• Roomy cabin: There's plenty of leg- and headroom in the first and second rows, even with the panoramic sunroof. Taller passengers in the second row should be able to sit in the most upright position without brushing the headliner. However, this was not the case for the third row. Adults may have a hard time getting in, and once seated, they're likely to feel confined. 

What Needs Improvement 

• Unintuitive infotainment: How tech-savvy are you? If the answer is "not much," the Q7's dual-screen software interface may perplex you. Despite having several methods of user input, the menu-heavy system requires a lot of driver focus. There's also a learning curve to navigate the digital instrument cluster effectively, however good it might look.
