Practical sports car
The 2014 Audi R8 is a sports car through and through. The standard V8 engine and available 10, coupled with the tiny two-seater cabin, make that clear. But the 2014 R8 toes the line and doubles as a practical daily commuter. Standard all-wheel drive leaves it winter ready, and the tuning and comfort mean the 2014 R8 is just as comfortable in traffic or driving slow in the city as it is on the highway or race track. Whether you choose the coupe or convertible, the 2014 R8 is full of fun.

5 reasons to buy the 2014 Audi R8
1. Powerful engines
If you want to go fast, the 2014 Audi R8 can deliver. The car comes standard with a 430-hp 4.2L V8, which can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. If you want even stronger acceleration, choose the available 525-hp Lamborghini-sourced 5.2L V10, which accelerates from zero to 60 in an impressive 3.4 seconds. The top-spec engine is also a 5.2L V10, but produces 550 hp.
2. Great transmission options
With so much horse-power under the hood, you’ll need a great transmission to match. The 2014 Audi R8 delivers, especially when you choose the available Audi S-tronic® dual-clutch automated manual transmission. Or, if you want a more hands-on driving experience, stick with the standard six-speed manual transmission, which comes with a self-adjusting clutch to streamline your performance.
3. Coupe or convertible
Do you like feeling the rush of the wind in your hair, or sealing yourself off from the noise of the drive? The 2014 Audi R8 offers both options, with convertible and coupe body styles. The convertible, known as the Spyder, is a power soft-top that’s perfect for driving up the coast.
4. Strong sound system
Whether you’re driving the V8 or the V10, the 2014 Audi R8 produces its own soundtrack, a beautiful engine hum. But to enjoy your music over that, choose an Audi R8 with the available 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. That audio is available on all R8s and can be paired with standard Bluetooth® connectivity.
5. Comfortable
Sports cars aren’t always known for their comfort, but the Audi R8 changes that. The two seats in the R8 come standard with leather upholstery, heat, and eight adjustments, including lumbar support. Standard automatic climate control keeps the cabin just the right temperature, while standard adaptive suspension ensures a smooth ride.
