5 reasons to buy the 2022 Audi R8
1. Powerful V10 engine
The magnificent 5.2L V10 engine offers 562 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque in rear-wheel-drive format. That's good for a zero-to-60 sprint of just 3.0 seconds, which is perfect if you love a thrilling drive. If you want a bit more power, and extra grip to boot, look out for the all-wheel-drive quattro model. This increases power to 602 hp with 413 lb-ft of torque. No matter which you choose, this is a car you'll love to drive.
2. Comfortable ride
Despite the performance credentials, the R8 manages to be a great daily driver too. The ride is the right amount of stiff for a sports car, but when you're not pushing along those windy mountain roads, you can enjoy a smooth, comfortable ride. This is on top of great standard features such as heated seats, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, and a wireless charging pad.
3. Striking good looks
There's no doubt this is a car that will turn heads—or make you want to park artfully on a back road for a photo op. From the sleek lines to being able to see the V10 under glass in the back, this is a car that oozes performance style. There are also some great optional details to keep an eye out for too, including the quattro model's carbon fiber accents or the faux suede offered in the Dynamic package.
4. Great handling
Along with all that power, the 2022 Audi R8 also has fantastic handling. The rear spoiler is functional, too, giving you a little extra downforce when you need it. The retractable spoiler on the base model will automatically deploy when you reach the correct speed, but if you're heading out on track, you might benefit from the quattro model's fixed spoiler — it looks great too.
5. Convertible option
The 2022 Audi R8 is available either as a coupe or a convertible. If you love to feel the wind in your hair, go for the top-down model. It's called the R8 Spyder and features a soft power-folding roof that can be operated at speeds of up to 30 mph. This is great if you regularly travel through beautiful places or want to show off as you drive to your beach destination.
