5 reasons to buy the 2020 Audi S8
1. Understated but sporty looks
If you don’t like to shout about performance, then the 2020 Audi S8 may be the sports saloon for you. Redesigned for the 2020 model year, the Audi S8 is a performance version of the luxurious A8. Its silver body accents, aluminum-look mirror caps, and S-model-specific bumpers lend it an upmarket air. At the same time, its low stance, 20-inch alloy wheels – 21-inch rims are available – and quad exhaust pipes signal its more sporting intent.
2. Powerful engine
There is only one engine for the 2020 Audi S8, a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8. The eight-cylinder has an output of 563 hp, with 590 lb-ft of torque, which are big numbers for big performance. Audi quotes a zero-to-60 acceleration time of 3.8 seconds, which for a large saloon is no mean feat. Whether you’re an enthusiast or a more relaxed driver, the S8’s eight-speed Tiptronic® transmission has a choice of fully automatic or manual modes, so you can tailor the driving experience to suit your mood.
3. AWD and adaptive suspension
The 2020 Audi S8 has road holding to match its looks and performance, a dynamic all-wheel steering system to improve agility, and a quattro® sport differential. A predictive active air suspension is also standard, controlling each wheel individually for improved passenger ride comfort and more dynamic handling when you want to enjoy those more spirited driving moments.
4. A luxurious interior
As you’d expect from being based on a luxury sedan, the 2020 Audi S8 has a sumptuous cabin, rich in expensive-looking materials and finishes. Diamond-stitched leather seats, an Alcantara headliner, faux-suede door trim, and deep carpets are standard luxurious features. Built on the long-wheelbase A8 chassis, passengers of all sizes should be able to get comfortable with 44.3 inches of rear legroom. For added relaxation, the Audi S8 Rear Seat Comfort package offers massage, lumbar adjustment, and memory functions.
5. Lots of technology
The 2020 Audi S8 has a high level of onboard technology to keep everyone happy, whether on the school run or those interstate road trips. A 10.3-inch screen operates the infotainment functions and features wireless Apple CarPlay® and wired Android Auto™ connectivity, while the four-zone climate control system is accessed via an 8.6-inch digital interface. The 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen® sound system will please music fans and the 2020 Audi S8 also has convenience covered with satellite navigation, a heads-up display, power soft-close doors, and a powered trunk lid as standard.
