2018 Audi TT gets new S Line competition package
Audi’s 2018 TT marches on with the same reputation for elegant fun in the third model year since its full redesign. Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the TT provides plenty of get-up-and-go for a good time. The TT isn’t just about cheap thrills, though; this is one classy car whether you choose the Coupe or Roadster (convertible) body style.
Designed with simplicity in mind, the 2018 Audi TT features stitched leather and faux suede inside the cabin. In front of the driver, the virtual display shows vital information like speed and fuel levels along with audio and navigation controls.
The TT is packed with features and technology, and it handles with near perfection. A family car this is not, as the seating and cargo area are limited. However, it suits one or two people perfectly and presents a striking silhouette with beautiful lines and a streamlined interior.

What We Like
Technology: Audi is up to date with the TT, packing this small car with technology. A comfortable knob controls the infotainment system, which includes satellite radio, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a nine-speaker audio system. For even more functionality, look for the Technology package to get the navigation system, smartphone connectivity, a Wi-Fi hotspot
, and an upgraded premium audio system.Driving: The 2018 TT is all about handling precision, and it delivers on its promise. It also boasts a strong turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and standard all-wheel-drive system for a potent combination of power and confident driving dynamics. The TT keeps its cool and seems to relish taking on curvy roads, eagerly leaning in with confidence. It shifts quickly and smoothly and is equally at home whether highway cruising or canyon carving.
Interior: The TT Roadster may not have rear seats, but it does have a center pass-through you could use for a ski bag. A folding fabric roof, roll hoops, and a power-deployable wind blocker also come with the convertible option. Across the dash, the lines are unbroken by a touchscreen, instead employing a virtual gauge cluster that displays everything in one place. Aviation-style circular vents accent the cabin, adding a vintage pop to an otherwise super-modern look.
What Needs Improvement
Utility: Alas, the cargo area in a TT is lacking, especially in the convertible body style with only 7.5 cubic feet of trunk space. Choosing the coupe increases that number to 12 cubic feet, but that’s still not a lot. This downside relegates the TT to shorter trips instead of longer jaunts where you could revel in its wonderful handling.
