Super coupe
The BWM M2 was all new for the 2016 model year and represented a return to basics for the Bavarian automaker. Smaller than the larger BMW M4, the 2016 M2 has still got it where it counts. Under the hood is a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six-cylinder engine that puts out an impressive 365 horsepower. It has other enthusiast must-haves like rear-wheel-drive and a standard six-speed manual transmission. There is only one trim level, which will make searching out lots all that much easier. The 2016 M2's mix of fun and luxury is sure to be a worthy addition to your garage.

5 reasons to buy the 2016 BMW M2
1. Tenacious handling
There is nothing quite like hustling a small fun-to-drive car through your favorite back road. When things get twisty, the 2016 M2 makes great use of its sports suspension to keep you planted on the road. Like all M cars, the M2 integrates BMW's decades of race track experience into a great road car.
2. Powerful engine
As you exit your favorite corner in your 2016 M2, the turbocharged 3.0L inline-six-cylinder engine is ready to go. It makes an impressive 365 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque which is more than ample considering the M2's 3,450-pound curb weight. Plus, you can choose between a standard six-speed or available seven-speed automated manual (DCT) transmission.
3. Great standard features
The standard BMW 2 Series already features a pretty impressive interior, but the 2016 M2 builds on that with a host of upgrades. You'll get standard comfort and convenience features like leather upholstery with 10-way power (and heated) front sport seats with driver memory, auto-dimming mirrors, and automatic wipers. So, you're sure to be comfortable during your favorite weekend drive.
4. Solid tech
While the 2016 M2 does predate full smartphone integration, you can still link your phone or audio device via Bluetooth® and USB connectivity. Other standard features include BMW's iDrive® infotainment system viewed through an 8.8-inch display screen, a navigation system, plus a 12-speaker Harman Kardon® audio system. This means you'll still be able to enjoy your tunes on your next weekend trip.
5. Great options
Sure, the 2016 M2 only comes in one (very well-equipped) trim level, but there are still some great options available. Search for the Executive package and you'll find interior upgrades like a heated steering wheel and automatic high-beam headlight control. You'll also get driver aids like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, frontal collision warning and mitigation, and a lane departure warning system.
