The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro may be keeping a muscle-car name alive, but beyond its straight-line speed it doesn’t bear much resemblance to the muscle cars of yesteryear. The Chevy Camaro offers potent acceleration from its 455-horsepower V8 and 335-horsepower V6 engines, and even its available turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers punchy performance. It comes as a coupe and a convertible, too. But this Camaro is also sharp and nimble in the corners, behaving like a dedicated sports car. Unfortunately, there are some tradeoffs in terms of day-to-day comfort, like poor visibility, a tight cabin, and limited trunk space.
For 2022, the 1LE Track Performance package is no longer available for four- or six-cylinder Camaro models, but there are still a ton of trims and options available. The Camaro is available in a wide range of trims, spanning multiple engine options. At the bottom is the 1LS, powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder, and at the opposite end of the spectrum is the ZL1 with a massively powerful supercharged V8. If you're looking for a performance value, the Camaro LT1 is the least expensive trim that comes with the V8.

Performance: It shouldn’t be surprising that the Camaro is quick. You’ll get solid acceleration whether you choose the V8 or V6 engines, and even the base four-cylinder engine feels strong. Where the Camaro stands out is its precise and rewarding handling, and sharp transmission options. It all adds up to a driving experience that competes above its class.
Ride Quality: Given the Camaro’s performance credentials, you might expect it to feel stiff on the road, but the standard suspension delivers a supple ride. V8 models can be equipped with an adaptive suspension that smooths out bumps on a wide variety of surfaces. Overall, the Camaro’s ride quality is very good for a car that handles this well.
Standard features: Among other features, the base Camaro 1LS trim comes with a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Usability: The aggressive design makes the Camaro more difficult to see out of, and only leaves room for a miniscule backseat and tiny trunk. The limited space in the cabin means some of the controls and A/C vents have been crammed in awkwardly. Other muscle cars make fewer compromises.
