All-wheel drive isn't hard to come by on a crossover SUV, but rarely does this feature come as standard equipment. On the 2014 Subaru Forester, every trim comes with full-time all-wheel drive for added traction and control behind the wheel. Meanwhile, some trims (including the 2.5i Limited and 2.0XT) feature "X-Mode," which adds stability control intervention and transmission shift points.
The 2014 Subaru Forester is available in two engine configurations, depending on the trim you select. Standard on most trims is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine at 170 hp—though the 2.0XT Premium and 2.0XT Touring trims come with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder at 250 hp. This is a great option to have if you're looking for a compact crossover that can deliver a little extra punch underneath the hood.
With six trims to choose from, there's a 2014 Forester out there for every type of driver. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the generous features on this crossover, which include standard Bluetooth® connectivity, full power accessories, and a height-adjustable driver's seat. If you're looking for more features, step up to the 2.0 XT Premium, which adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a sporty rear spoiler. Meanwhile, the 2.0 XT Touring boasts a suite of driver-assistance features to enhance your drive.
Even with its rear row fully intact, the 2014 Forester offers a generous 34.4 cu-ft of cargo space. And by folding down the rear seats, you can extend that up to a massive 74.7 cu-ft. A low platform height also makes loading and unloading the cargo area a breeze.
Inside the 2014 Forester's cabin, you'll find plenty of room, with a maximum seating capacity of five passengers. In the front, there are 40 inches of head room and 43 inches of leg room. And in the back, you’ll have 37.5 inches of head room and 41.7 inches of leg room. This crossover has even been designed with "stadium" style seating, so the rear row is elevated slightly to allow for better sightlines.
