The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is praised for its fuel efficiency, smooth handling, and adaptable interior space, making it an appealing choice for families. Customers value its user-friendly technology and driving comfort but express mixed opinions about its engine power and cabin noise levels. It stands out as a practical and reliable SUV option overall.
great gas mileage
lots of room in the back. Love being able to hit a button to make the rear close.
my spouse is 6’2 & has tons of leg room
windshield wipers need different speed
great bucket seats, this one had fabric ones so a little easier to keep clean
obviously its great being an 4WD (due to a button enabler so you can save gas when you don't need that extra traction) with a low gear option and a button controller for gear selector if you need. Good for snow, rain, mud or slick environments
Bluetooth and wired android/apple auto (you need a USB to connect to the car and to your phone or device and it has to be wired not through the power socket but the adjacent usb socket for proper connection)
the engines consume oil alot and most of these cars are out of warranty so its roughly 2,500-6000 in replacement cost (not including labor)
They are poorly built and are one of those cars that if you don't regularly maintain it or it hasn't been regularly serviced it will just be a money pit, so unless you can guarantee it's in tip top condition with a good service record then don't buy it. My car was decent being maintained by the previous owner but it still has an oil consumption issue on the 1.5 liter turbo engine in it. and the 10 speed transmission in it fails often
a little rough and a little harder to bring to a tighter corner like similarly sized vehicles, the shocks fail often too
I like the acceleration response.
Has a good sized trunk. The back seats fold down to 90 degrees, which allowed me to fit my entire apartment back there when moving.
Handles well. I hardly feel speed bumps.
Constant wind sound. I blast the radio to try and shut it out.
CarPlay has issues connecting sometimes. I’ll press mute and radio will pause and then continue. I don’t like that the radio switches to AM every time I turn my car on.
With it being a hybrid I expected a little better MPG. I get like 25-29 in the city.
