About the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox

Vehicle Summary

When you need a vehicle to get you where you're going with just a little something more, the compact crossover SUV 2019 Chevrolet Equinox provides a great option. Available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive versions with a range of available engines, it works well for singles, couples and small families that have a need for a vehicle that's capable of leaving the paved city streets for somewhat rougher terrain. While still providing a relatively cost-effective drive, the Equinox provides plenty of capability for bad weather or light towing. The small diesel engine provides superior power at 240 lb-ft of torque with very light fuel consumption.

Generation Overview

Appropriately unveiled at the autumnal equinox on September 22, 2016, the Chevrolet Equinox premiered with the 2018 model year in three different available engines, with gasoline-powered versions first available in the spring of 2017 and diesel-powered versions available that fall. The 3.6L V6 engine available in the prior generation was discontinued in the third generation, which added an available surround-view camera, driver assistance features and a rear seat alert which reminds a driver who had opened a rear door at the beginning of a trip to check the back seat once they arrive at their destination. After the 2019 model year, the turbocharged diesel engine was discontinued due to low customer demand.
