5 reasons to buy the 2012 Acura MDX
1. Great handling
This handsome luxury midsize SUV is as enjoyable to drive as it is to look at. The V6 engine gives it plenty of power, which is a lot of fun in itself, but it also handles very nicely. The cornering is athletic with highly responsive steering, making adventuring in the 2012 Acura MDX an exciting prospect, no matter where you're going. Anyone looking for an SUV can appreciate the fact that the ride is firm yet comfortable, giving a pleasurable edge to an otherwise highly practical vehicle. The available AWD opens up even more options for fun.
2. Plenty of horsepower
The 2012 Acura MDX comes equipped with a 3.7L six-cylinder V6 engine as standard, which creates 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. It's no mean feat to lug around a vehicle of this size carrying up to seven passengers, but the MDX's V6 is up to the task. That level of power means that overtaking on the freeway is a breeze, especially when this vehicle achieves zero to 60 in 6.6 seconds (when new). Plus, the 2012 Acura MDX gets decent mileage for its size, with an EPA-estimated 18 combined mpg with the V6.
3. Generous entertainment
Even though the 2012 Acura MDX is now a decade old, it still comes with a great selection of advanced entertainment features thanks to its status as a luxury vehicle. It has Bluetooth® capabilities and HandsFreeLink cell phone connectivity—the vehicle's interface recognizes up to 800 verbal commands in English and French. The Bluetooth connectivity also enables an audio interface that allows you to play your own music wirelessly. And, for the passengers in the back seat, there are packages available that add nine-inch color displays on the seat backs and a DVD player. No more getting bored on long drives.
4. Comfort for seven passengers
Let's say your driver is happy with the handling and power behind the wheel, and the passengers are sufficiently entertained. Still, are they all comfortable? Fortunately, the 2012 Acura MDX has automatic humidity control which uses electronic sensors to measure humidity based on cabin conditions. Not only that, but there's tri-zone automatic climate control, meaning the driver, front passenger, and second-row passengers can all travel at the temperature they desire. For long journeys with seven people, perks like this make life so much easier, even if you sit back in the third row.
5. Versatility
In the 2012 Acura MDX, space is never at a premium. The vehicle offers a range of innovative cargo and seating configurations, meaning no more wrestling with your camping gear or grocery shopping. There's a 50/50 split flat-folding third-row bench seat and a 60/40 split-folding second-row seat, allowing for plenty of options. There are also cargo area tie-down anchors for particularly bulky items and hidden storage solutions to keep the vehicle from becoming too cluttered.
