The 2024 Honda Pilot is a comfy and roomy SUV
The 2024 Honda Pilot didn't receive any changes after a big redesign in 2023. But the spacious Pilot continues to offer a comfortable ride and plenty of room for up to eight people and up to 22.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. The standard V6 engine allows the Pilot to tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped, and its all-wheel-drive system makes it as capable on dirt and rugged roads as it is on the highway.
Competitors have started to muscle in on the Pilot's turf. The Kia Telluride has a nicer interior and a little more storage space behind the third row, and it's equally capable in off-road situations. The Mazda CX-90 is even more refined and is a bit more fun to drive.
But the Honda Pilot can do a bit of everything. If utility, comfort, and a no-fuss package are what you're after, you should take a look at the Pilot.

What We Like
Comfort: The front seats are plush and comfortable, though they offer a lower level of adjustment than some competitors. The available second-row captain's chairs are also plenty comfortable, and there's lots of legroom in both rows.
Practical interior: There's a lot of space to store small items in the front two rows, and the interior is very practical. The available captain's chairs can be moved out of the way with the touch of a button so passengers can get into the third row.
Flexible cargo space: There are vehicles with more cargo space than the Pilot, but few offer as much versatility. The third row folds in a 50-50 split, creating a large, flat surface that's easy to load items into.
What Needs Improvement
Fuel economy: The Pilot gets between an EPA-estimated 20 and 22 mpg in combined driving, depending on its trim. That's similar to other three-row SUVs, but it doesn't compare to one of its top competitors: the Toyota Highlander. The Highlander gets up to 25 mpg combined.
