2017 Lexus RX 350 review

1. Plush interior 

Have a seat in the 2017 Lexus RX 350 and you will immediately notice the soft surfaces, from the lavishly comfortable seats to the leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel. With 39.4 inches of headroom and 44.1 inches of legroom up front, even taller people can comfortably stretch out. In the second row, 39.1 inches of headroom and 38 inches of legroom mean even teenagers won’t complain (much). With smart ergonomics, everything is in a logical place and within easy reach.  

2. Superbly quiet 

The 2017 Lexus RX 350 can help you find your zen, as the chassis and suspension are designed to absorb all offenders, such as potholes and cracked pavement. Even the engine mounts are designed to minimize vibrations to prevent disturbing the rest of the vehicle. Sound-dampening materials beneath the carpet, and in between chassis panels, further reduce decibels. Standard active noise control cancels out whatever makes it to the cabin, making for a serene place for music, conversation, or simply enjoying the quiet.   

3. F Sport 

The standard RX 350 is calm under all road conditions, so the available F Sport option injects some fun into the mix. The adaptive variable suspension lets it tackle corners based on conditions, while unique front and rear bumpers advertise the increased sportiness. The inside features perforated leather seats with extra bolstering for when you hit the windy back roads with enthusiasm. F Sport badging denotes the performance trim, as does an additional paint color and an exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels. Look for the F Sport if you want a little more from your drive.  

4. Driver assistants  

New for 2017 is a standard package of driver assistance features. It includes automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, useful in heavy urban environments. The adaptive cruise control is wonderful on road trips, while lane-departure alert and lane-keeping assist are useful nearly every drive. The Lexus RX 350 wants to make driving that little bit easier. 

5. Optional AWD 

The weather doesn’t care that you want winter to be over. If slush or snow threatens an important day at work, the Lexus RX 350 has optional AWD for all-weather confidence. The RX 350 has an intelligent AWD system that automatically applies power to the wheels with grip, without driver input. There's standard selectable drive modes to tailor your driving experience, and for even more control, the optional paddle shifters let you select the right gear with just a tap.
