Porsche Cayenne adds two new choices for 2013
The Porsche Cayenne is a favorite of driving enthusiasts in the SUV marketplace, with some buyers seemingly happy to trade outright practicality and off-road prowess for enjoyable on-road driving dynamics and that desirable Porsche badge on the hood. New for 2013 are a pair of models that address both ends of that spectrum: The 240-hp Cayenne Diesel adds some fuel-sipping pragmatism for those looking for economy, and the GTS bridges the gap between the Cayenne S model and the outrageous Turbo flagship.
The GTS model gains 20 hp over the Cayenne S' 4.8-liter 400-hp V8. It also gains Porsche's active suspension system with adjustable ride height (dubbed PASM), improved brakes, a lower ride height, and standard 20-inch alloy wheels, along with some other more sporting accoutrements inside and out like sport seats and a SportDesign package. All impress, but the GTS really does underline Porsche's desire to position the Cayenne as a driver's SUV.
