What customers are saying

The 2023 Ford Explorer offers strong cargo space, advanced technology, and respectable styling. However, experiences vary in ride quietness, fuel efficiency, and reliability, with reported concerns about infotainment glitches and cabin noise. Performance and comfort are mostly appreciated, but reliability challenges temper overall satisfaction.

They sold me a defective car!

PROS
Cargo Space

I needed a third row vehicle.

Seat Comfort

Seats are comfortable

Interior Space

It provides the space needed for my family.

CONS
Technology and Entertainment

It blacks out periodically. I’ve taken it to Ford for the update but am told it will be on an active recall in the future so there’s nothing that can be done.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is horrible

Power

It’s sluggish

Mix of luxury and performance

PROS
Interior Space

3rd row suv with captain seats with no plenty of leg room. With 3rd row down, huge trunk space.

Power

300 horsepower that allows you to accelerate around slower traffic.

Technology and Entertainment

Every luxury I wanted. Heated & ventilated seats, large infotainment, great speaker system, 360 degree camera with cross traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control!

CONS
Cabin Noise

With radio off, there is a wind like noise coming from the rear area that I have been unable to locate yet. never had a vehicle with this much noise.

Fuel Economy

I may drive a little fast, so this isn’t for everyone, but it’s in the mid to low 20’s in the city without around high 20’s at longer drives in the country.
