Almost Perfect - a tad overpriced
I noticed the other review regarding the rear end. I assume it was an ST with the 3.0 400 HP engine. There is a big issue with a possible fracture that is in the process of a recall. But this only applies to the ST with the higher HP. I have the ST-Line with 2.3 300 HP engine which should not have that issue. Anyway, I've driven this from Virginia to Colorado and back without a single issue. Super comfortable seats and remarkable gas mileage for such a big vehicle. I got 24 MPG averaging 72 MPH. So far, so good. Even with Ford's issues with recalls, I think this one is a keeper. It is a popular vehicle for a reason.

Rides smoothly with little road noise and the seats are really comfy.

The seats are very supportive but soft and welcoming.
Power
For a 4 cylinder, it's surprisingly peppy. Good acceleration.

Sep 03, 2022 DO NOT BUY A LATE MODEL EXPLORER!
This veh has an inherent problem that has now been addressed by Ford by a recall. However, my rear blew up (literally, parts flew out from below) a week before I received the notice. Drive by a Ford service area or their storage lot most likely. Mine has been sitting for two months waiting for repair. That's a couple of months more than I owned it!!
