Generation Overview

The seventh generation of the Hyundai Sonata covers the model years 2015 to 2019 and borrowed styling inspiration from the Hyundai HCD-14 concept car that appeared at the 2013 New York International Auto Show before the production model was unveiled at the same show in 2014. The new generation included Bluetooth® compatibility, SiriusXM satellite radio, aluminum-alloy wheels and a split folding rear seat.4 The 2018 model year saw a facelift that included a strong redesign that pulled inspiration from the sixth generation while adding standard backseat USB ports, wireless charging pad and a Blue Link® update for Amazon Echo® and Google Home® compatibility.

Great car; exactly what I was hoping for

This car is big enough for my two labs to lounge in the back and still have room for all our camping and hiking gear. Easy to clean; with two pups you need that! Drives smooth and haven’t had an issue yet!

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: Great gas mileage!!
  • Seat Comfort: Nice huge seats! Very comfy too!
  • Power: I like being able to zip around when I need to!

Cons

  • Technology and Entertainment: Seems kinda “old school” to not have touch screen or back camera
  • Ride and Handling: Wouldn’t let me put space; can’t wear a high bun without bumping my head on the ceiling. #girlproblems
