2017 Hyundai Sonata Reviews

4.3 out of 5 (14 reviews)

Great first car.

Solid car for a first car, still pretty efficient with gas considering it’s mileage. Great space and functional on all fronts.

Pros

  • Braking: after repairs to the back brakes, the brakes are smooth and feel perfect for any scenario.
  • CargoSpace: great space for company and very nice trunk space
  • InteriorSpace: good leg room for long drives for all passengers

Cons

  • Power: unless using it in sport mode, does not have the greatest acceleration so you have to compensate a bit

Hyundai Excels in every way!

Tremendous value for the price, excellent ride, super comfortable for commutes, teched out for its low price point!

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Amazing ride and handling for a vehicle in this price point. super comfortable to drive and the back seats are cavernous compared to competitors.
  • Technology and Entertainment: Amazing level of technology for this price point. I actually traded down from a luxury vehicle manufactured in the same year but that has less technology than this Sonata.
  • Interior Space: Cavernous interior compared to competitors. super comfortable to drive and ride in.

Cons

  • Braking: Braking can feel a bit spongy at times, but always brakes with confidence .

Best purchase ever !

great on gas has luxury car features without paying luxury expenses!

Pros

  • Power: not the fastest car out but pretty impressive for a 2.0T 4 Cylinder! you’d be surprised on what It can keep up with .
  • Reliability: with Hyundai’s reliability score going up every year and they’re generous 100’000 miles warranty you can’t beat that .
  • Styling: I love the styling of my sonata especially in my limited trim it reminds me so much of it’s bigger brother the Genesis G80 so much styling wise with the huge bottom led running lights and massive grille .

Cons

  • Dashboard: the drivers instrument cluster Led Screen could’ve been bigger
  • Technology and Entertainment: wish it had lane keep assist instead of lane departure warning.
  • Fuel Economy: you really have to drive like a snail to get good fuel economy on average I get 22mpg on highway 15 in the city .
