As a car guy, I thought I would hate it but we needed something reliable with good gas mileage for long road trips. The amount of features for the price is just inredible. Auto Lane Keep and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control makes road trips a breeze. The 4th generation Prius drives and handles so much better. I used to think driving a Prius meant that you get great gas mileage and everything else suffers, but that is no longer the case.

Pros

Dashboard: Intuitive, futuristic dash board. Still has physical buttons to adjust things, the touch screen is great but you don't have to use it to control everything like on some cars.
Cargo Space: We actually sleep in the back on road trips. There's enough room for my wife and I (5'11) to sleep comfortably in the back with the seats folded down and the front seats pushed forward. Because its a hybrid you can run the AC all night while you're sleeping, and it only kicks on the engine occasionally to keep the battery charged.
Power: It's not a fast car, but not the slowest either. The latest generation doesn't feel sluggish at all.

Cons

Styling: Not a fan of the sharp, angled, aggressive look to the front end
Visibility: The split rear window is a bit annoying, but you get used to it

The advantage to a Toyota is that you know you can always get it repaired easily and mechanics will know what to do with it. The car handles fine, good acceleration, and of course the quick start that you get from the battery power. And of course the best bit is the reduced need for gas: I'm currently getting 51.6 mpg! The car gives you an "eco driving" score at the end of each drive, which is a little arbitrary but I think it's kind of fun. It's also a quiet ride. I really only have two complaints, hence the four-start rating. One is that the coverage of the sun visor is really bad, especially on the side, so I struggle with being blinded a lot. The second is that the car beeps when you are reversing, and it also makes distressed noises when you get too close to another object. I can see how these things are useful, but it means that when I reverse out of my garage, the car is having a hissy fit. You're going backwards! You're too close on the corner! You're too close at the side! There may be a way to turn this off, but I haven't found it.

Pros

Fuel Economy: Over 50 mpg, so I fill up about half as often as before. For me, that's a current savings of about $50 per month.

It's cute, drives well, it's GREAT on gas and it's big enough for my family. I'm very happy with this purchase. I can't see myself driving anything other than a Prius from now on. I'm spoiled.
