5 reasons to buy the 2022 Ford Escape
1. Hybrid engine choices
The 2022 Ford Escape has a choice of four engines and if you favor efficiency, there are hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. Both models have a system power output of 200 hp, sitting neatly between the 181 hp and 250 hp EcoBoost® gas engine options. The Titanium Hybrid Escape with two-wheel drive achieves an EPA-estimated 41 mpg combined,
but if you want to drive silently using no fuel, the plug-in hybrid has an EPA-estimated electric range of up to 38 miles, with 105 combined MPGe (electric and gas)/40 combined mpg (hybrid mode).2. Available all-wheel drive
Almost all 2022 Ford Escape models are front-wheel drive, with the exception of the 2L EcoBoost, which is all-wheel drive. AWD is also available on all other Escapes except for the plug-in hybrid. Using Ford's intelligent AWD Disconnect system provides extra traction when needed, and otherwise disconnects the rear axle to reduce fuel consumption and time at the pump.
3. It can carry the whole family
Even though it is a compact SUV, the 2022 Ford Escape has enough room for you and your crew. On non-hybrid models, there is up to 104 cu-ft of total passenger volume. With the ability to carry five people, the Escape's rear passengers will enjoy up to 40.7 inches of legroom, which almost matches the 42.4 inches in the front. That level of comfort is perfect for trips to school or for traversing highways.
4. They can pack all their stuff
It's not just people the 2022 Ford Escape is good at carrying. With up to 37.5 cu-ft of space behind the rear seats, passengers can pack all their stuff, too. One neat trick is the sliding rear seat which lets you choose between legroom and cargo space. The rear seat is split 60/40, giving you even more versatile storage options. Fold this down, and there is up to 65.4 cu-ft of carrying capacity. For added convenience, a foot-activated power liftgate is standard on the top Titanium trim.
5. Four feature-filled trims
Whichever trim you choose, the 2022 Escape comes packed with features to make life easier. All have automatic headlights, LED taillamps, a rearview camera, and steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls. A SYNC® 3 infotainment unit with SiriusXM®, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® integration, AppLink®, and 911 Assist® is standard on SE and above—and the SEL adds front fog lights and rear parking sensors. Front parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and 10-way power seat adjustment are standard on the top Titanium trim.
