The 2018 Nissan Murano now gets driver aids standard
The 2018 Nissan Murano is a two-row midsize SUV that’s comfortable and stylish, but it doesn’t offer much towing capacity or cargo space. Highlights include the massively comfortable front seats and an attractive interior that looks more upscale than most 2018 competitors. While passenger space is good, there’s less cargo space than competitors offer, and the Murano’s 1,500-pound towing capacity is subpar.
The Murano offers a good set of standard features, including Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and, for 2018, forward collision mitigation. Nissan also discontinued some stand-alone options and made more features standard on the SV and higher trims. Overall, the Murano is well equipped compared to other 2018 competitors. The Murano may be worth considering if you’re looking for comfort and style and don’t need much cargo space or towing capacity.

What We Like
Seats: The well-cushioned and supportive front seats are a major strength, offering all-day comfort for long road trips. Backseat passengers also get more support than on many rear bench seats. We also appreciate the strong seat heaters.
Roominess: The 2018 Murano provides ample room for passengers, and the back seat can even fit three adults in a pinch. But stick to four passengers, and adults or children won’t be bumping knees or shoulders.
Interior design: The Murano’s interior design makes a good impression with its organically flowing lines and, especially in higher trims, high-quality materials. The interior style matches the exterior flair.
What Needs Improvement
Versatility: The Murano is more about comfort and style than utility. With a smaller-than-average trunk and meek towing capacity of just 1,500 pounds, the Murano definitely isn’t built for heavy-duty work.
