The 2018 Sedona is a minivan value but no fuel-sipper
The 2018 Kia Sedona minivan is easy to drive and spacious with seating for between seven and eight people onboard, depending on which second-row configuration you choose. It’s also no slowpoke thanks to the 276-horsepower V6 tucked in the engine bay. When you need to, the front-wheel-drive minivan will zip down the road with ease and has plenty of power for stress-free passing maneuvers at highway speed. Just know that the Sedona’s V6 is thirstier than what you get in rivals like the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.
While the base L trim level has a temptingly low starting price, moving one rung up to the Sedona LX gets you niceties like a power-adjustable driver’s seat, power-sliding side doors, and an upgraded stereo. At the LX level you can also upgrade to a seven-inch touchscreen that’s user-friendly in how it operates and comes with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Light steering makes the Sedona easy to maneuver, though the ride gets unsettled over rough pavement.

What We Like
Cabin design: From behind the steering wheel, or pretty much anywhere you sit in the roomy Sedona, you might think this minivan carries a much higher price than it does. The cabin is attractive and has materials that feel equally durable and high-quality.
Infotainment system: We suggest opting for the available seven-inch Uvo touchscreen that’s standard starting with the midrange EX trim. Easy to use and with smartphone connectivity, this system is worth the premium.
V6 performance: The Sedona’s V6 is powerful and gets this minivan down the road without any hesitation. It’s a smooth engine and the available acceleration makes minivan driving, dare we say it, kind of fun!
What Needs Improvement
Second-row seating stays put: Are you going to need every last square foot of cargo space in your minivan? You might want to sidestep the Sedona. That’s because neither the second-row bench nor the optional dual captain’s chairs are removable.
