The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette has a well-earned reputation for eating supercars for lunch. Its 455-horsepower V8 engine made it an instant hit when Chevrolet debuted the C7 generation in 2014. The 650-hp Z06 model is new for 2015, in addition to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and an available performance data recorder.
The Z06 has everything you could ever want in a Corvette, including a supercharged engine, adaptive dampers, sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes and a carbon-fiber hood. But the base Stingray trim with the regular ole V8 is competitive with the likes of the Porsche 911 and BMW M4 while selling for a fraction of the price. It's an unprecedentedly capable and approachable sports car. The power is exhilarating but not intimidating and the handling is exceptional. All of this is a car that gets an EPA-estimated 21 mpg combined with the manual transmission and 20 mpg combined with the automatic.

Driving: Both the eight-speed automatic and the seven-speed manual transmission are excellent and feature a launch control mode. But the star of the show is the V8, which is delightful whether rumbling at low speed or revving at high speed and paired to the supercharger in the Z06.
Comfort: This is a road-trip star thanks to a pair of comfortable seats. They can be upgraded to include additional side padding if your weekends are likely to include slinging your Corvette around the track. The optional adaptive dampers, included on Z51 packages, can turn the 'Vette into a stellar highway cruiser.
Utility: The Corvette offers 15 cubic feet of cargo space in coupe form, more than enough for most grocery runs and impressive for the sports car category. You lose some storage if you opt for the convertible, as storage drops to 10 cubic feet.
Technology: The center touch screen is prone to glitches and can be unresponsive to inputs. There's also no Apple CarPlay® integration offered.
RepairPal gave the Chevrolet Corvette an overall reliability rating of 4 out of 5 stars, which RepairPal describes as Above Average. This rating ranks Chevrolet Corvette 29th out of 30 among Midsize Cars.
