2016 Chevrolet Corvette is a performance icon
The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette base trim is a joy to drive, with a 6.2-liter V8 under the hood that provides 455 horsepower. If that's not enough, the supercharged 650-hp Corvette Z06 covers this all-American sports car in carbon fiber, with a larger rear spoiler to match. Either way, the Corvette is a spectacular sports car, whether you dream of track days or are looking for a way to spice up your commute.
For the 2016 model year, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration are standard, and a front-view parking camera is available, making it easier to park (rearview camera is standard). The adaptive suspension dampers, which can greatly improve the comfort of your ride experience, are now an available option.
Available in coupe and convertible, in a wide variety of trims, even the standard Corvette Stingray includes creature comforts like heated mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control and leather upholstery. All that is for a much lower cost than its European rivals like the Porsche 911 or BMW M4.

What is new for the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?
- Corvette trims have been upgraded with Apple CarPlay and Navigation System as standard equipment this year.
- CD Audio features are now available as options on select trims.
What We Like
Driving: The standard V8 is powerful and satisfying. Hitting the gas is a delight, thanks to an impressive eight-speed transmission and the wonderful noise sent through the center-mounted tailpipes.
Comfort: Firm, comfortable seats provide ample support for both long drives and hot laps. Additional side support is available for those who expect to take especially punishing trips on track days. The available adaptive suspension dampers also deliver an uncommonly smooth ride for a sports car, even on less-than-perfect roads.
Utility: The Corvette offers 15 cubic feet of cargo area when in coupe form, which is plenty for a handful of groceries or golf bags. That's generous by sports car standards. The convertible is a bit stingier, dropping total cargo space to 10 cubic feet.
What Needs Improvement
Technology: The addition of Apple CarPlay® is welcome, but the center touchscreen is not very pleasant to use. It’s not like using your iPhone — it's slow to respond and often takes a couple of pokes before you get what you're after.
