Awesome Car With Performance That Is Unmatched!

Talk about a car that delivers power that will throw you back in the seat. Everything about this car is amazing. EDC suspension settings allow you to adjust the stiffness of the ride if your just city driving or tighten it up for mountain roads or track days. If there is a drawback to the car it is the gas mileage. Expect to be the fastest car from gas station to gas station but don't let that hold you back from experiencing 400+ horsepower out of a car that will leave others in the dust.

  • Power: Last year you will ever see a naturally aspirated V8 in a M3
  • Ride and Handling: Adjustable suspension settings
  • Styling: The German's always win in this category

  • Fuel Economy: Averaging 9 to 11 MPG's

- Michael Hill, 2013 BMW M3

Didn't realize CarMax had cars like this.

The M3 is a very sporty car, the darling of Top Gear and track modders, and this was the final few years of the M3 before BMW started slapping a turbo on everything. Imagine my surprise when I saw one for sale on CarMax's website. Low miles and well-equipped, so my wife and I paid to have it shipped to us and have been loving it ever since!

  • Power: 420+ hp naturally aspirated V8. Can't beat that!
  • Ride and Handling: Very composed at speeds you don't want to admit you're going.

  • Fuel Economy: 18 mpg freeway, 14 commuting, 10 in traffic
  • Cost to Maintain: Bad mpg combined with a small fuel tank means you'll be filling up every week.

The greatest car... in the WORLD

The E90 M3 is the greatest sports sedan in the world. Tons of power from a truly beautiful V8 engine. The exhaust note goes from a throaty growl at low revs to an insane, mind-erasing scream at redline. Despite the bulges in the fenders and hood, the car blends into the crowd - until you open up the throttle. The M-DCT transmission is a little lumpy when cold and a bit awkward at very low speeds, but the upshifts are brutally fast and the rev-matched downshifts plaster a grin on your face. Make no mistake: this is NOT a "luxury car" like a base 3 series. The suspension is extremely stiff, especially with the competition package. But if you want the fastest, hardest, craziest, lap-record-setting 4-person car that money can buy, get an M3.

  • Power: Way more power than anyone actually needs means plenty always available. It's terrifyingly fast for a sedan.
  • Ride and Handling: Insanely planted, wonderful steering feel. Adjustable dampers range between stiff and bone-rattling. Have yet to discover the car's limits because they're at illegal speeds.
  • Interior Space: Fits four adults comfortably. I'm 6'4" and have plenty of leg and head room when I drive.

  • Fuel Economy: Exactly what you'd expect: 12-14 in the city, 18-22 highway.
  • Technology and Entertainment: iDrive system doesn't work well with my phone, no way to update it.
  • Cost to Maintain: Tires, wheels, and other consumables are very expensive.
